As the northeast of the country prepares and struggles with heavy snow and freezing temperatures on Thursday, South Florida has also been hit by bad weather.
Many travelers have been bogged down in the two major airports in the area.
CTN News reported that as of Thursday morning, 63 flights to or from Miami International Airport (MIA) from places like New York and Newark, New Jersey, had been canceled.
For its part, at the Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale International Airport, the number reaches 97 canceled flights.
“I prepare for the worst, but I hope for the best,” said Erik Horvitz, who had a flight to Philadelphia scheduled for 7 a.m. after having spent the night at the Miami airport when his flight was discontinued on Wednesday.
In total, more than 2,700 flights have been canceled all over the country because of the big blizzard.
