The general assigned to the Army Reserve died shortly after collapsing while conducting physical training instructions at Fort Bragg.
The United States Army Reserve Command stated that Major General Francisco A. Espaillat, who was 56, of NY City has been rushed to a nearby Army hospital Friday and shortly pronounced dead, in accordance to the Fayetteville Observer (http://bit.ly/2ommxef).
Mr. Espaillat had just recently been selected to be the next chief of staff for the United States Army Reserve Command Unit.
Lt. Gen. Charles D. Luckey, the commanding general of that Army Reserve division Command as well as Chief of Army Reserve, issued a announcement offering his personal condolences today“Sunday”.
Lt. Luckey called Espaillat a “jewel who will never be forgotten.”
Espaillat joined the Armed forces back in June of 1982. May you RIP.
