It is a mystery that has enthralled residents of Lake Grove, New York for decades. In 1961 Korean War veteran George Carroll ‘walked out’ on his wife and four children, never to be seen again. Now, a team of psychics may have solved the ‘mystery’, and it looks likely that Carroll never actually left the family home.
In an attempt to solve what had actually happened to his father, one of Carroll’s children – Michael – called in a team of psychics. After visiting the old family home in June, the psychics told Michael that they felt an ‘energy’ in the home, but needed time to process their findings.
Psychics say they feel mysterious energy in basement
Upon returning to the house in November, the psychics led Michael to a spot in the cellar where they found the energy to be the most concentrated. To Michael’s stunned amazement, upon excavating the spot with the help of his two sons, he discovered what he suspected to be human remains.
“There were twisted in a knot, weird-looking,” said Michael. “It was down and twisted in the dirt, not totally exposed, either.”
Upon his discovery, Michael contacted the police, whom have now opened an investigation. They will use dental records and DNA testing in order to identify whose remains they are – but Michael is already convinced that they belong to his ‘missing’ father.
‘Victim’s’ wife was always guarded on what had happened to her husband
Michael’s mother and George’s wife Dorothy never explained to her children what had actually happened to their father, other than that he had ‘gone away’. Dorothy passed away in 1998.
According to Michael it had been a family rumour that their father was buried in the basement. “It didn’t just come up overnight, it’s something that’s been talked about for years,” he said. “This is something as we grew up, you know. We heard multiple stories.”
