The Greatest Show on Earth- Permanently closed

Ringling bros-permanently closing “The Greatest Show on Earth” in May 2017 after 146 years entertaining millions of Americans.

The iconic circus under the big top was felled by dropping their attendance,fickle public taste and were charging high operating costs.

The Ceo Of the circus said in a statement:

I have made the difficult business decision that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will hold its final performances in May of this year.”,“The circus and its people have continually been a source of inspiration and joy to my family and me, which is why this was such a tough business decision to make. We are extremely grateful to the millions of families who have made Ringling Bros. part of their lives for generations.

In the year of 2016, the circus was found sending some of the elephants to its conservation farm in Florida due to the continuous protests about the animals in the show.

But right when the elephants were gone, the ticket count dropped even more dramatically, says the CEO Feld.

In the year of 2011, Feld Entertainment paid a fine of $270,000 to the US Department of Agriculture for alleged violations that falls under the Animal Welfare Act.

Whereas the company yet did not admitted wrongdoing but also promised so as to implement new training for the personnel who handle animals. Ringling Bros, also made some changes to its conventional lineups in order to capture the attention of their attendees.

The first ever female ringmaster made her debut this week in Orlando, Florida. There are about 250 -300 people as the member of cast of the circus.

The circus was said to be a family-ran circus until the year of 1967, and then it was sold to Feld Entertainment, says a report from Wisconsin Historical Society
