WASHINGTON (World Breaking News) – President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the controversial book about him and his mandate, whose publication has tried to paralyse the president’s lawyers, is “full of lies.”
“Fire and Fury”, which goes on sale today, is “full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that do not exist,” Trump said in his Twitter account, which also states that he never spoke to his author, journalist Michael Wolff, for the book.
“Actually, I rejected him many times,” he added, assuring that he never authorized Wolff’s access to the White House.
In the book, based on interviews with high officials of the White House, it is assured that Trump’s goal was not to become president and impose on the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, but to strengthen his brand; and it details the chaos in the West Wing during the first months in the government of the president.
“Look at this guy’s past and see what happens to him and to ‘Sloppy’ (little rigorous) Steve!”, Said Trump on Twitter in reference to his former consultant Steve Bannon, with whom he has faced for criticizing his son in the book.
Mr. Bannon, considered the main link of Trump with the populist movement that pushed him to power, lost the favor of the president when came to light a statement in which he described as “betrayal” the meeting with Russians in 2016 with Donald Trump Jr ..
The president insinuated that the publication of the controversial book tries to hide its good economic management,
“The media (which publishes) false news hardly mention the fact that the Stock Market has just set a New Record and that business in the US is booming … but people know it!” He tweeted.
Finally, Trump wondered: Can you imagine if “O” (in reference to his predecessor Barack Obama) was president and had these numbers? It would be the biggest story in the world! (The stock index) Dow (Jones) is now above 25,000 (points). “
The publisher responsible for the book, Henry Holt & Company, will allow several wholesalers to start selling it today instead of next January 9, the scheduled date, according to CNN television and The Wall Street Journal.
“Due to unprecedented demand, we changed the sale date for all formats of ‘Fire and Fury’, by Michael Wolff, to Friday, January 5 at 9:00 am on the US East Coast, a spokesman said. from the publisher to CNN.
The announcement came shortly after several media outlets reported that a Trump lawyer, Charles Harder, asked Wolff and his publisher to “cease and desist from any publication or disclosure” of the new book.
“We are investigating numerous false and baseless comments that you have made about Mr. Trump,” the president’s attorney informed the author of the work.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders did not want to clarify yesterday if the president’s legal team planned to sue the author of the book or the publisher, but said he hoped the work would not be published.
“This book is a complete fantasy, full of tabloid gossip” and “false and fraudulent allegations,” Sanders said at the daily press conference.
